The Birmingham News recently reported on Shaffer Sports and Events' tent and seating installations at the inaugural Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. Shaffer employee Matt Scalco was featured in the article. "We built all of the hospitality tents, bleachers and concessions stands throughout Barber Motorsports Park," he said during a tour Monday, as his crew was preparing to break down the structures. "But I'm most proud of the media center and 40-by-60-foot VIP hospitality area we built in the paddock area. It was just an open concrete slab before we built these walls and the temporary ceiling."
