Amanda Wade
I’ve been employed with Shaffer Sports since Nov. of 2007. I’ve been working in the industry since 2000. I grew up in Colorado Springs, CO and moved to Alabama to attend the University of Alabama in 1996 where I earned a degree in Event Management. I was married in July to Arthur and have 2 dogs. I enjoy spending time on the lake, water skiing and being outside.
Betty Jo Russell
Betty Jo "B.J." Russell is office administrator at Shaffer's Coshocton, Ohio facility. With Shaffer since 1989, she started as receptionist and has since handled accounting, payroll, HR, purchasing, corporate housing, and more. Betty Jo enjoys travel, kayaking, hiking, biking and spending time with her family. She is a member/volunteer and past president of her local Community Park Board.
Dion Baccus
At Shaffer since 2007, Dion is an IT Business Analyst and Operations Assistant. Dion is an Akron, OH native, but currently resides in Birmingham, AL. He served our country in the Army National Guard while earning a bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS). Dion is currently earning his MBA with dual concentration in Global and Technology Management. His hobbies include playing guitar, reading, sport shooting, and hiking.
MVP Award
Shaffer recognizes Cole Lankford as their 2009 MVP. His stellar performance is a benchmark for other project managers. His hard work was rewarded by a personalized Club Car. Congratulations and thank you Mr. Lankford.
Jerry Darr
Jerry Darr, "J.D.", is an expert fabric sewer in Shaffer’s Coshocton manufacturing department. He has been with Shaffer since 1976, which has allowed J.D. to travel extensively, sometimes to far-flung states for races and PGA events. J.D. is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing golf after work. He is the youngest of ten children, and has one son and one grandson.
Ken Chappell
Ken Chappell is U.S. event project manager for Shaffer. He has worked in the Golf Event Industry for 10+ yrs., and has been with Shaffer since 2005. A native of Alabama, Ken enjoys Auburn football, basketball and any Southeastern Conference sports. Ken also enjoys waterskiing, snowboarding and spending time with his English Bulldog Milo. He is thankful his job allows him to work at beautiful golf courses every day.
Gene Hallman

Ralph Dickerson
Ralph Dickerson works as a mechanic and helps manage maintenance and shipping at the Shaffer Coshocton, Ohio facility. Ralph has been with Shaffer for 22 yrs. He lives in Coshocton with his wife of 35 yrs. and is a father of two and grandfather of 6. He enjoys trap and clay pigeon shooting. Ralph has been member of a local conservation club for 29 yrs. and its president for the past 23 yrs.
Spencer Randle
With 10+ yrs. of special event experience, Spencer has worked on many well known projects. Spencer attended the University of Alabama and spent 5 years in the United States Marine Corps. An avid music fan, he attends many Widespread Panic and other concerts. Spencer is a Birmingham native, and enjoys backpacking in the Alabama woods with his wife Laura and two dogs. Other hobbies are hiking, canoeing, snow and water skiing.
Tom Matthews
Tom "Minnor" Matthews was born and raised in Coshocton, OH. He started with Shaffer after high school in 1975, and has 34 yrs. of service. Minnor started out working local events and progressed to PGA golf tournaments. He now works in the manufacturing department sewing fabric for tents and accessories. Minnor enjoys hunting, fishing, being active in his church and spending time with his family.
Robert Hamilton
Robert "Hammy" Hamilton has worked for Shaffer longer than any other employee. He started in the 1960’s when Shaffer was still under ownership of Raymond and Retta Shaffer, in Coshocton, Ohio. Hammy is operations manager of the Shaffer warehouse and manufacturing facility in Coshocton. Hammy loves golfing, gardening and spending time with his wife Pam and family, including his eight grandchildren.
Cole Lankford
Cole Lankford is Senior Project Manager for Shaffer Sports in Alabama. He has ample experience in the golfing industry, having just finished his 17th season working on the PGA tour. Cole attended Auburn University and is a “Rabid” Auburn Tiger Fan, WAR EAGLE! His interests include spending time at the beach, golfing, and deep sea fishing.
